Not worth a penny August 21, 2010 wowier (San Francisco) I just got this item and was so excited to use it--- until I plugged it in--it did not work. There was no picture. I tried this item on three different tv's in our house (my HDTV by samsung, my viewsonic monitor, and a Sony 19" TV) I even made sure that I hooked up all the cables correctly from ipod to the corresponding input jacks on the tv. I tested this cable on my ipod nano 5th generation (the newest version) and my ipod touch 3rd generation (newest version) but no picture on either, no vide, but the audio works. I bought this to watch the videos in my ipod on my TV's but the product did not work. Not only that, the plugs are so tight on the connectors on the tv's that they nearly broke my tv jacks. Do not buy this overpriced item. Wait until a non-apple product comes out with cables that will work or write a complaint letter to apple. I know I will!
NO need to buy NEW!! August 14, 2010 J dOGG I bought the Apple Composite AV Cable so that I could plug my iPhone 3GS into my 50" Plasma and watch either a You-Tube video, Podcast, or even movies that I download to my phone and typically watch on IT, I can now view on 50 inches worth of screen as opposed to 3.4 inches!! Bottom line, I bought the "Like New" cables, instead of the $49.95 "New" cables, only difference was I bought an open box item, the cables and accessories in the box were still in their original heat sealed packaging, and worked PERFECTLY!! I saved $30 for an item that was NO DIFFERENT then what someone would've received buying a "New" item. My box wasn't sealed, big deal!! Thanks guys, I'll be back FOR SURE!!!!
Product is fine, but overpriced August 9, 2010 DaFireMedic (Southern California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This cable works fine, but is waaaaayyyyyyy overpriced. My Ipod Video classic cable would not work due to Apple's policy of making sure that new accessories must be purchased with each newer Ipod version you purchase. Apple, if you are not going to allow 3rd party accessories, at least make your accessories reasonably priced. $50 for an A/V cable? Ridiculous......
Works as Advertised July 29, 2010 rjgsphinx (Marietta, GA) I tried another brand first to try and save the money, NO LUCK. Would charge, play sound, and show pictures but would not play movies. This does exactly what it is supposed to. I may get annoyed with Apple on a regular basis about their proprietary ways but I keep buying their stuff because it works like nothing else.
Several reviewers have commented on the tightness of the fittings and this is absolutely true, they fit very snugly. However I had no issue getting them on or off, I just twisted slightly clockwise while pushing on or pulling off and wallah.
I thought about getting the Apple Component AV Cable - iPhone / iPod audio / video / data cable with power adapter - component video / audio / USB - Apple Dock connector - 4 pin USB Type A, RCA (M) but when I travel on business more TVs have composite hookups than component hookups and my wife's car has composite hookups so decision made.
Love it July 21, 2010 A. Zeitoun (CA, USA) I have iphone 3GS, unfortunately you can not play anything except youtube, I was looking for playing "mobiTv" :( no chances..
